About Panther Bands

Cadet (Beginning) Band
This class is available for students who would like to join, but have not played in band before. Please note that beginning percussion is not offered at Langston Hughes Middle School.

Concert (Intermediate) Band
This class is for students with at least one year of playing experience. It will help to further develop fundamental skills on a band instrument.

Advanced (Symphonic) Band
This class is for the student with highly exceptional ability on a band instrument.

Percussion Ensemble
This class will focus only on percussion techniques (mallet/drums/auxiliary instruments). All percussionists will sign up for this class.

Jazz Band
The Jazz Band meets after school.

Auditions will determine placement of students in ensembles.
